some more scanned film
I’m still trying to catch up with all the transparencies I have that need scanning, but this particular set taken in Turkey in 2009 at a market in Amasra, a small fishing town on the north coast on the Black Sea (which given it was summer was a lot colder than I was expecting) caught my eye.
shot on fast Ilford film the grain is very evident when looked at closely, giving the image a beautiful timeless quality, but it was the contrast I liked – probably viewed best large and if I get the chance it’ll be printed on some hahnemuhle paper

the locals were very happy to be photographed once I had demonstrated how my camera worked and shown them the beautiful viewfinder of the Rollei – as I took this image I had three curious women peering over my shoulder and offering fruit to be photographed… they found my job as a food photographer a little curious and sometimes I would have to agree with them
