some film

the scanning has begun…

it’s been a quiet week, so I’ve been scanning some of my Turkey and Cuba film. As my scanner isn’t up to much, Marc (Schlossman) very kindly let me scan a few images on his Imacon scanner, a very serious piece of kit, and the results are stunning. The black and white negatives look beautiful and new life has been given to the cuba images with much more accurate colour rendition and better detail in the darker tones.

shot on my rollei, this image was taken in Istanbul near the Galata bridge, just after some very heavy rain (a couple of days before the flooding in Istanbul, it turns out) and just before dusk. I would have loved to have spent longer in Istanbul, but like many places I’ll have to get myself back there one day…

in the meantime I’ll be printing the turkey images large and hanging them on the studio wall..
