cappadocia

the surface of the moon…

a few more black and white turkey 6×6 negative to share

taken in the heart of Cappadocia National Park looking towards the Rose Valley… the colours were pretty impressive at sunset but then I’m not into cheesy sunset shots and the timeless quality of grainy black and white film seemed much more apt. Looking at this through a lupe, even on the contact sheet, the detail was beautiful

makes me want to invest in some more film cameras, but perhaps the word invest isn’t the right one to use.. after a brief stint with my old Mamiya 67 (and loving the camera but not appreciating the framing difficulties) perhaps it could be time for the Pentax 67? it is a beast of a camera, a heavy workhorse, but I imagine traveling with the mamiya would be far easier. The 67 transparencies also scan very well and as I provide a photo library with my travel images, this could be the more sensible route to take. Having said that, why don’t I just shoot digital? well, you just don’t get a compact camera with a large and bright viewfinder – the day one is brought out I’ll jump on it

although not literally
